Mike Huckabee’s social-media stand-up routine has once again fallen flat with the public.

Former Arkansas governor Huckabee kicked off his Cinco de Mayo on Friday with a seeming joke about his plans for the day.

“For Cinco de Mayo I will drink an entire jar of hot salsa and watch old Speedy Gonzales cartoons and speak Spanish all day.,” Huckabee tweeted. “Happy CdMayo!”

The humor: Predictably bad. The response: Predictably snarky.

“Stick to celebrating your people’s culture of wearing khakis from Sears and taking rights away from minorities,” read one response.

More than one response suggested that Huckabee might have been chugging something stronger than salsa before posting his tweet.

“Clearly he’s always drunk tweeting…,” posited one observer.

“We as a country, have way too many crazy old politicians, posting early-morning-hate-tweets,” read another response.

“How do you say ‘racist pig’ in Spanish?” asked another Twitter user.

“So essentially you want your a-shole to know what it’s like to be you,” snarked another reader.

Huckabee’s Twitter jokes have been the target of mockery on numerous occasions. Notably, comedian Patton Oswalt appeared on ABC late-might show “Jimmy Kimmel Live” in March to parody Huckabee’s zingers, reading the former governor’s tweets verbatim while standing at a microphone in a faux comedy club called Yuck Yuckabee’s.
