Looks like Relativity Media is knocking on John Cusack's chamber door.

Relativity Media announced Thursday that it has acquired the U.S. marketing and distribution rights to Intrepid Pictures' adaptation of Edgar Allen Poe's "The Raven."

Cusack is set to play the role of the tormented narrator, with James McTeigue ("V for Vendetta") directing.

The film also stars Luke Evans, Alice Eve, Brendan Gleeson and Oliver Jackson-Cohen. Ben Livingston ("Bruce Almighty") and Hannah Shakespeare ("Loverboy") will adapt the screenplay.

Trevor Macy and Marc D. Evans are producing for Intrepid, alongside Aron Ryder of FilmNation, who bought the project from Intrepid.

"Edgar Allen Poe's name is synonymous with legendary tales of suspense, and we love the idea of a thriller with Poe at its center, McTeigue at the helm and a talented cast bringing it all to live," said Relativity production president Tucker Tooley.
