Myriad Pictures has taken on sales duties on the Jim Sturgess and Isabel Lucas starrer “Electric Slide,” which is currently shooting in Los Angeles. The film is a Myriad Pictures presentation of a Killer Films Production in association with Media House Capital and Myriad Pictures.
The film is based on a true, 1980s- story of high-living, charismatic Dodson (Sturgess), the owner of a posh Los Angeles furniture store who robbed a bank to impress his new girlfriend (Lucas, left).
The thrill of the initial heist was so intoxicating that Dodson robbed more than 72 banks over a period of a few months in the Los Angeles area before the FBI finally nailed him. Highly charismatic and handsome, Dodson charmed his bank teller victims into emptying their cash drawers and earned the nickname "The Gentleman Bandit."
Patricia Arquette, Chloë Sevigny, and Christopher Lambert have also joined the cast.
Tristan Patterson, who also wrote the script, is directing.
"Electric Slide is, first and foremost, an amazing story," said Kirk D'Amico, CEO of Myriad Pictures. "It's just unbelievable the way this charismatic character was able to rob bank after bank and always slipping away with his girlfriend a la Bonnie and Clyde before getting caught. We love Tristan's script and his vision for this story inspired by true events from LA in the 80's. We are fortunate to have Jim Sturgess and Isabel Lucas star and to have such an amazing supporting cast."
