Dailies | Why ‘Iron Man’ Robert Downey Jr. Makes Children Cry (Photo)

The Marvel superhero accidentally broke a toddler's heart just by being himself

Kids hate Iron Man. At least when he's out of costume, that is.

A photo of Robert Downey Jr. looking solemn as a toddler weeps next to him is circulating the Interweb. You see, 18-month-old Jaxson Denno heard that he was about to meet Iron Man. But who Denno met was a two-time Academy Award nominated actor in his street clothes.

Denno's mom Heather heard that Downey Jr. was in town filming "The Judge" near their Western Massachusetts hometown.

She told Boston.com, "I said to my son, 'Hey, here's Iron Man,' but he didn't have the red suit on so Jaxson put his hands over his face and got upset."

But the actor was a good sport about the whole thing, Denno said. "He was amazing. You could tell he was a father. He was so sweet and nurturing."

Imagine how upset the boy would be to meet a non-CGI Mark Ruffalo instead of the Incredible Hulk?
