Old school hip-hop will grace the stage as Run-DMC joins Rakim and others
Lace up your Adidas — the surviving members of Run-DMC are reuniting this fall for the first time in the a decade at Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin, Texas.
Joseph Simmons, known as Rev. Run, and Darryl "DMC" McDaniels called it quits after the group's DJ, Jam Master Jay, was murdered in 2002 at his recording studio in New York.
But the hip-hop band will take the stage for the Nov. 2-4 festival and concert organizers said they plan to donate some proceeds to the JMJ Foundation for Music, which works to give youths access to the arts, the AP reported.
The 7-year-old festival features a shortlist that includes Rakim, Against Me!, Bob Mould and Rakim. The full lineup will be announced on July 12.
