Naomi Watts is in talks to star in “The Glass Castle” alongside Brie Larson, TheWrap has learned.

Lionsgate’s adaptation of Jeannette Walls’ memoir reunites Larson with “Short Term 12” director Destin Daniel Cretton. The film tells the story of a successful young woman who was raised by dysfunctional parents, who move to New York to be close to her.

Woody Harrelson was already cast as the alcoholic father, and Watts will play the mother.

Production will begin in June in Montreal, with Gil Netter producing. Marti Noxon wrote the first draft of the script, and Cretton and Andrew Lanham are writing the current draft.

Watts most recently starred in “The Divergent Series: Allegiant,” and is working on “The Bleeder” and “The Book of Henry,” as well as the next “Divergent” film, “Ascendant.”

Watts is represented by CAA, Untitled and Hansen Jacobson.
