Fox has delayed production on the pilot for “Chad: An American Boy” due to visa issues with some of its cast members, TheWrap has learned.

“Because of our commitment to authenticity, we conducted a worldwide casting search for several roles in this pilot which meant that we wouldn’t have been able to get visas in time to shoot within the traditional pilot window,” Fox told TheWrap in a statement.

“We are happy to confirm that we have hired Paul Chahidi to play Hamid, Naz’s sweet older cousin and Christine Tawfik to play Naz, the witty long-divorced mom raising her two kids in Delaware with the help of her older cousin, Hamid,” the statement continued. “The pilot will shoot in late May for possible midseason consideration.”

The series hails from “Saturday Night Live” alum Nasim Pedrad, who recently starred on Fox’s “Scream Queens” and the short-lived “Mulaney.” She will play a 14-year old boy in the throes of adolescence who is tasked with being the man of the house — leaving him with all the responsibilities of being an adult without any of the perks.

The half-hour, single-camera comedy from 20th Century Fox Television is written by Pedrad and Rob Rosell, who will also serve as executive producers alongside Michael Rotenberg, Dave Becky and Jason Winer, who will direct.
