Dick Wolf’s New ‘Chicago’ Law Series Has Exactly the Title You’d Expect

Latest in the “Chicago” series is moving forward at NBC, TheWrap has learned

NBC is moving ahead with a new Dick Wolf “Chicago” series, this one a legal drama tentatively called “Chicago Law,” TheWrap has learned.

The new series rounds out Wolf’s new franchise currently comprised of “Chicago Fire,” “Chicago Med,” and “Chicago PD.”

Wolf, who created the “Law & Order” franchise at NBC, teased the idea of a fourth entry during the recent Television Critics Association winter press tour.

“You’ll see certain things. It would obviously be short-sighted to not be mutually be kicking the tires on what that would be,” Wolf said. “It would probably be in the legal system. You may see, the same way you saw in the last three years, some people doing legal things, that would give an insight into where that could go.”

“Would I like to do it? Of course,” he continued. “My instinct is always to double down, but there are many masters to serve and a lot of people have to agree. In the abstract, sure, that would be great. It’s a question of how that would operate and what the form would be, but there have been discussions.”

“Med” was the top scripted show of its Nov. 17 premiere night, earning a 2.2 rating/7 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic, along with 8.6 million total viewers.
