New ‘The Flash’ Trailer Teases More Villains, More ‘Arrow’ Crossovers (Video)

Mark Hamill’s Trickster, Brandon Routh’s Atom among costumed characters set to appear in Central City

On the eve of its return from winter hiatus, The CW has released a new two-minute trailer for “The Flash,” and it’s filled with tons of new footage from the rest of the series’ freshman season.

Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen, aka the meta-human super-speedster known as The Flash, is getting faster, stronger and better at his job as a superhero, but it looks like the show will be throwing plenty of obstacles in his way.

Among them are Mark Hamill‘s Trickster, Wentworth Miller making a return as Captain Cold and Liam McIntyre as a new Weather Wizard, not to mention the talking gorilla called Grodd who lives in Central City’s sewer system.

Of course, the Man in the Yellow Suit, aka Reverse Flash, stands tall above them all and it looks like Barry may finally be figuring out that his greatest foe and his mentor and friend Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) may just be one and the same.

The new trailer also teases more crossovers between “The Flash” and CW’s “Arrow,” with Emily Bett Rickards making another return appearance in Central City as Felicity Smoak, this time bringing newbies Katie Cassidy as Laurel Lance and Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer’s alter ego Atom along.

“The Flash” returns Tuesday, Mar. 17 at 8 p.m. and its season finale has been set for May 19. The series has already been picked up for a second season on The CW.
