Oscar Losers Have 160,000 Reasons to Smile: Nominee Gift Basket Most Expensive in History

Oscar hopefuls will walk off with most luxurious goodies to date including vacations, laser surgery, personal training

It’s an honor just to be nominated, right? It’s no secret that Sunday’s Academy Awards will turn out more losers than winners, but the show has one serious consolation prize: a nominee gift basket worth a record-breaking, estimated $160,000.

Created by Distinctive Assets, the bag is packed with perks like a year of free Audi car rentals, camping vacations from TerraVelo Tours and Rocky Mountaineer worth over $27,000 combined, a Gunner Fox painting valued at $5,000, 10 sessions with a celebrity personal trainer and an L.E.D. liposuction treatment that promises to take three inches off the waistline valued at over $4,000.

While the swag isn’t officially endorsed by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, trophy-less nominees have been scoring the Distinctive Assets gift for years.

“To be part of the film industry’s biggest night on any level is thrilling,” Distinctive Assets’ founder Lash Fary said in a statement. “We always look forward to introducing standout entertainers to an array of companies with fabulous gifts to share … but it’s particularly fun to be able to do so when you know it will truly brighten someone’s day.”

Further enviable items include custom-designed furniture by architect Elena Foccoli listed at $28,000, a nine-day luxury tour of Italy (including George Clooney‘s haunt Lake Como) valued at $12,000, and the Steamist Total Sense Home Spa System, going for $5,000.
