Actor’s A7SLE Films is producing the adaptation of the memoir by Tom McManus

Peter Facinelli Options 'War & Football'

Peter Facinelli has acquired rights to the book and script “War & Football,” a true story based on the memoir of Tom McManus.

The book “‘We’ll Always Be Pals’: The last words of a dying father and a true hero!” tells the story of McManus and his father Geno, a former NFL player for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

In order to restore his son’s sense of purpose, the senior McManus, a WWII combat veteran, must teach his son the true meaning of “never say die” by recounting his own tale of survival against the odds as a P.O.W. in a Nazi camp.

The film will be produced by Facinelli, Rob DeFranco, Kim Murray and McManus.

Facinelli and A7SLE Films, who recently wrapped production on “The Last Word,” based on Jesse Quackenbush’s documentary of the same name, have also acquired the rights to nonfiction book “The Devil’s Rooming House.”

Facinelli is currently in production on NBC midseason drama “Odyssey.”
