After defeating Hillary Clinton in the election last November, now-President Trump he took a few moments during his inauguration day Friday to honor his former opponent.

“I was very, very honored when I heard that President Bill Clinton and Secretary Hillary Clinton were coming today … and I’d like you to stand up,” Trump said at the inaugural luncheon.

The room erupted with applause when Hillary rose and she can be seen saying, “Thank you,” as Trump himself clapped loudly with his hands above his head.

“Honestly, there is nothing more I can say because I have a lot of respect for those two people,” Trump said.

Trump and the Clinton have a long and bizarre history.

The former friends took dirt slinging to a whole new level when they emerged as their respective party’s candidates. At one point, Trump even threatened to put Clinton in jail over the way she handled classified emails as secretary of state.

Friday’s gesture is a show of class by Trump, who was also cordial with outgoing President Obama earlier this morning.
