A Minnesota court has appointed a special administrator in the case of Prince, after the “When Doves Cry” singer’s sister filed papers saying that he died without a will.

In papers filed Wednesday, district court judge Kevin W. Eide said that Bremer Trust, National Association had been appointed special administrator for Prince’s estate.

The papers noted that Bremer Bank, National Association has provided “financial services to the Decedent for a number of years and has knowledge of his personal financial and business financial affairs.”

Bremer will serve as special administrator “to preserve the estate and to secure its proper administration until a general Personal Representative is appointed by the Registrar or by the Court.”

Prince died Thursday at age 57. He was found unresponsive in an elevator in his Paisley Park home in Minnesota, but responders were unable to revive him.

A hearing on Prince’s estate will be held May 2, the court papers noted.

According to TMZ, the singer was hospitalized the week prior to his death for an overdose of the pain killer Percocet.
