Matt Damon and Ben Affleck Are ‘Very Excited’ to Mentor ‘Project Greenlight’ Winner (Video)

Movie stars share their enthusiasm about helping another aspiring filmmaker in promo for their HBO docu-series’ upcoming reboot

Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are returning to “Project Greenlight,” and they look to be bringing their larger-than-life personalities with them.

In a promo teasing the upcoming reboot of the HBO docu-series, aimed at helping aspiring filmmakers take their movie ideas from concept to the silver screen, the two movie stars explain precisely what they hope to accomplish.

They also add in a few touches of self-deprecating humor.

“Clearly we haven’t had any new ideas in the intervening 13 years,” Affleck jokingly pointed out.

As TheWrap previously reported, HBO greenlit “Project Greenlight” in April and announced Damon and Affleck would return to executive produce.

The show’s three-season-long inaugural run spanned from 2001 to 2005, and helped “Stolen Summer,” “The Battle of Shaker Heights” (starring Shia LaBeouf) and “Feast” get made.

Executive producing a TV show should be an interesting aside for Affleck, who is currently cowl-deep in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” which is filming.

Other producers for “Project Greenlight” include Adaptive Studios’ Marc Joubert, TJ Barrack, Perrin Chiles and Marshall Lewy, and Miramax’s Zanne Devine.
