R. Kelly failed to post $100,000 bail Sunday, which means he’s spending a second night behind bars, according to CNN.

Following his surrender to Chicago police Friday night, Cook County Judge John Fitzgerald Lyke Jr. set Kelly’s bond at $1 million during a Saturday afternoon court appearance. Kelly was indicted on 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse involving four accusers — three of whom prosecutors said were underage — between 1998 and 2010. He has denied any wrongdoing.

Steve Greenberg, Kelly’s attorney, told reporters Saturday that his client “really doesn’t have any money at this point” due to “mismanagement,” “hangers-on” and “bad deals.” He added, however, that Kelly would ultimately be able to come up with the $100,000 bail. That proved untrue.

But according to CNN, Kelly owes upwards of $169,000 in child support – which the court ordered him to pay by March 3 – and faces eviction from his Chicago studio for unpaid rent of more than $166,000.

Kelly’s legal representatives did not immediately respond to a request for comment from TheWrap.

Although Kelly was acquitted on child pornography charges in 2008, sexual misconduct accusations involving the singer have continued to surface. The recent documentary “Surviving R. Kelly” has led to renewed scrutiny.
