Scooter Braun’s SB Projects to Develop New Music-Heavy Animated Series ‘Rock Angels’

French animation house Cyber Group Studios Show partners on series, which will feature music created by Braun’s Schoolboy Records

Scooter Braun‘s SB Projects and French company Cyber Group Studios are partnering on a new animated series called “Rock Angels,” the companies announced Sunday at MIPCOM and MIP Junior.

“Rock Angels” will follow the exploits of a five-member teen band, aged 12 to 15, comprised of the Sky Angels, a sweet sisters pop duo from Louisiana named Dayna and Cherie, and the Rock Ons, a Detroit rock band of three cousins, Dev, Joey and Westin.

After tying for first place on Bandemonium, the biggest musical talent competition in history, the two bands merge to form Rock Angels, becoming a worldwide sensation in the process.

The series will feature music created by Scooter Braun‘s team at School Boy Records, while Cyber Group Studios will be in charge of the animation.

SB Projects is a diversified entertainment and media company with artists including Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande and Carly Rae Jepsen, and the company’s full-service record label School Boy Records. The company has been making serious inroads into television, producing the hit CBS series “Scorpion” and MTV’s “Todrick.”

Cyber Group Studios is an independent French prodution company which produces and distributes its own and third-party content to kids and families in particular.

The bible of the series has been co-written by Pierre Sissmann, Scooter Braun and Mike de Seve from Baboon Animation, who will also story edit the series. Scott Manson of SB Projects is also executive producing. Alex Bulkley, Ryan Good, and Jamie Abrams are also producing.

The songs featured in each episode will be filmed as real music videos, while the episodes will include digital content such as band members’ dedicated Facebook and Twitter accounts as well as the exclusive release of the Rock Angels first album on all platforms.
