Seth Meyers didn’t even spend a full minute backing up his Donald Trump ban last night — but it was a pretty effective 48 seconds.
“We instituted this ban despite the fact that he’s never been here, or asked to be here, or would ever be caught dead here,” the “Late Night” host said on Wednesday’s show. “And I just think that takes an amazing amount of courage on our part.”
Meyers laid out his ban the previous night, a protest of the GOP presidential candidate’s refusal to issue press credentials to The Washington Post. Trump laughed his denied access off yesterday, explaining he only does shows with “good” TV ratings anyway.
“So, ball is in your court, Donald,” the former “SNL” head writer continued. “Either rescind your Washington Post ban, or you are not allowed to appear on a show that you have no interest in appearing on.”
Meyers concluded: “Although maybe now that you can’t have it, you’re changing your mind…”
