The creepy new trailer for “Sherlock: The Abominable Bride,” starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, gives viewers a closer look at the bride herself.
“The stage is set, the curtain rises, we are ready to begin,” says Sherlock Homes (Cumberbatch) in the teaser.
The self-contained special is set to run a little under 90 minutes and takes Holmes and Dr. John Watson (Freeman) back to Victorian London, where they try to solve an impossible case. The episode, airing on Jan. 1, will be the first episode of the drama not to be set in present day.
The special, which will air on BBC One, is directed by Douglas Mackinnon and written by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss.
