‘Star Trek: Renegades’ Launches Kickstarter Campaign for New Episodes

Fan show stars original series actor Walter Koenig and “Voyager” actor Tim Russ

“Star Trek: Renegades” has launched a new Kickstarter campaign for additional episodes after the success of the pilot.

Set a decade after Voyager’s return from Delta Quadrant, “Renegades” follows a team of fugitives who are secretly working for the head of Starfleet intelligence, Admiral Pavel Chekov (“Star Trek: TOS” star Walter Koenig) and Tuvok (“Voyager” star Tim Russ) to root out internal corruption within the Federation as well as external threats.

The series also stars Robert Picardo, who appeared as the Holodoctor on a number of “Star Trek” projects, as well as Adrienne Wilkinson, Bruce A. Young and Edward Furlong.

“Voyager” actor Robert Beltran, “Deep Space Nine” actor Aron Eisenberg, and “Next Generation” and “Deep Space Nine” actress Hana Hate will also appear.

Writer and producer Sky Conway, writer Jack Treviño and Ethan H. Calk, will all return for the new episodes, in addition to “Next Generation” writer Melissa Snodgrass. The show’s producers are seeking $350,000 for the next episode.

As TheWrap reported exclusively, “Star Trek: Renegades” got its world premiere at the Crest Theater in Los Angeles on August 1, 2015.

The announcement comes on the heels of CBS’ revealing plans for a new “Star Trek” series to premiere on CBS All Access in 2017. Alex Kurtzman, who wrote and produced the first two rebooted “Star Trek” films, will serve as executive producer.
