Eleven From ‘Stranger Things’ Uses Her Powers to Microwave Colbert’s Burrito (Video)

Now THAT’S how you heat up a cold open

Child star Millie Bobby Brown reprised her breakout “Stranger Things” character Tuesday for Stephen Colbert‘s “Late Show” cold open. It was pretty great.

Jane “Eleven” Ives strapped back into her electrode-laden helmet of wires for CBS last night, using her incredible telepathic powers to microwave a burrito for “papa.” She then floated the warm stuffed tortilla over to Dr. Martin Brenner, who was played this time by the white wigged and bushy browed former “Colbert Report” host, and not Matthew Modine.

The sheepish Eleven needed to know why the creepy scientist was making her do all of this. “Because sometimes you’re hungry, and you don’t feel like getting up,” he replied. Makes sense.

As if that stupid pet trick wasn’t enough, Brenner made his test subject and adopted (read: stolen) daughter do her thing to his can of Coca-Cola. She didn’t crush this one, though. Instead, Eleven made it dance. Cue the nose blood — and Depeche Mode. Stranger things, indeed.

At least Brown didn’t have to shave her head this time. Also, there was no terrifying monster, so there’s that.

Watch the video above. And be sure to check out the excellent “Stranger Things” on Netflix — the sci-fi show has already been renewed for a second season.
