“Supergirl” Melissa Benoist appeared to get a little flushed on Monday while responding to Jeb Bush’s admission that the actress “looked pretty hot” on the new CBS superhero series.

“I heard about it, but I don’t know!” the actress laughed when asked about it on Monday’s “CBS This Morning.” “I’m glad he’s excited to watch the show.”

During an appearance at the LIBRE Forum in North Las Vegas on Wednesday, Bush was asked who his favorite superhero is. He initially responded Batman, but then followed up with, “I saw ‘Supergirl’ on TV. I saw it when I was working out this morning. There’s an ad promoting ‘Supergirl,’ she looked kind of — she looked pretty hot.”

In the CBS interview, Benoist talked about how she rejected a smaller, skimpier costume for the heroin, stating that “that’s not her and that’s not what’s important about her.”

She also added that she hopes young girls will take something from the new show, premiering Monday night on CBS.

“I think everyone would be able to take something from it, but I would really love to reach young girls, and to be a good role model for them,” she said.
