‘The Talk’ Beats ‘The View’ in Key Female Demo for First Time Ever

The daytime talk show helps carry CBS to its 29th straight season ratings win

CBS daytime show “The Talk” has finished the season ahead of ABC’s “The View” for the first time in the women 25-54 demographic.

For the 2014-2015 broadcast year, “The Talk” averaged a 1.0 rating and 6 share in the demo, while “The View” averaged 0.9/6. “The Talk” also tied “The View” for the first time in women 18-49 demographic with a 0.7/5.

CBS stood head and shoulders above its competition from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The network averaged 4.1 million viewers in the daytime hours for 2014-2015. ABC averaged 2.9 million, while NBC–which only programs one hour in daytime, “Days of Our Lives”–averaged 2.7 million, according to  Nielsen. This marks the 29th straight year CBS has won in daytime ratings for total viewers.

“The Price Is Right,” featuring comedian Drew Carey, remained daytime’s number one program, averaging 5.6 million viewers per episode. “Let’s Make a Deal” with Wayne Brady averaged 3.1 million viewers per episode.

CBS soap operas “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “The Young and the Restless” averaged 3.9 million and 5.2 million viewers respectively.
