The ladies of “The View” — well, only two regulars — bid farewell to “American Idol” on Tuesday, one day after the show was declared dead following its upcoming Season 15.

With guest host Toni Braxton joining the gabfest, the question at hand was whether or not the Grammy-winner would have signed up for “Idol” if asked. She would, Braxton said — adding that she would have “begged” to be a part of the Fox show.

“Especially in the beginning,” the “Braxton Family Values” star explained, saying that the singing competition was what all artists want: “An outlet to be heard.”

“They put the talent out, they put albums out on them,” the “Unbreak My Heart” songstress continued. “You have Jennifer Hudson, who won an Oscar — they promoted the talent.”

After the ABC morning group rattled off a few other big stars to come out of the show, Rosie Perez pointed out that the most successful ones all emerged during Simon Cowell‘s tutelage.

“I would have loved to have been on the show with him,” Braxton commented, “because his criticism is everything the record business is.”

Plus, if she had been a judge on the show — which is currently in its 14th season — Braxton said her style would have fallen between that of “a Simon and a Paula.”

Then, the ladies of the gabfest all decided that they’d vote for Braxton on “Idol” today.

In addition to Braxton, other guest panelists on Tuesday included the now-regular Raven Symone and ABC News Correspondent Paula Faris. Additional “Hot Topics” were DeflateGate, George Zimmerman’s latest legal troubles and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie’s expense account, among others.

First chair of “The View” Whoopi Goldberg was still out today due to a family issue.
