‘The View’ Mocks Donald Trump for Being ‘Scared’ of Megyn Kelly (Video)

“As the potential leader of the free world, you have to be able to face scrutiny,” co-host Paula Faris says

The ladies of “The View” had no mercy for Donald Trump saying he might skip the next GOP debate if it means he would have to face Megyn Kelly again.

“[Why] would you say, ‘I don’t know if I’m going to be there?’ That’s kind of setting you up,” co-host Whoopi Goldberg said. “You’re not scared of Megyn Kelly, are you?”

Co-host Paula Faris chimed in, saying she respects Kelly as a journalist and that she can be intimidating. Nevertheless, Trump has to be willing to face her.

“As the potential leader of the free world, you have to be able to face scrutiny,” Faris said. “You have to be able to be asked those tough questions and if you aren’t — if you’re not willing to put yourself in that arena in that situation, I wonder, ‘Why? What are you trying to hide?’”

The Republican presidential front-runner told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer he might skip Thursday’s GOP debate on Fox News Channel over his past issues with Kelly.”If I think I’m going to be treated unfairly, I’ll do something else,” Trump said. He eventually told Blitzer he would “probably” be at Thursday’s debate.

Fox News fired back with the following statement to TheWrap: “Sooner or later Donald Trump, even if he’s president, is going to have to learn that he doesn’t get to pick the journalists — we’re very surprised he’s willing to show that much fear about being questioned by Megyn Kelly.”

Trump has been upset with Kelly since the first GOP debate last summer, when he took exception to her question regarding “disparaging comments about women.” Trump has repeatedly gone after Kelly on Twitter, while “The Kelly File” host has avoided confrontation.
