“The Walking Dead” has promoted three actors from season five to series regulars, an individual with knowledge of the deal told TheWrap.

Tovah Feldshuh, Alexandra Breckenridge and Austin Nichols all played recurring characters on the latest season of AMC’s zombie drama, but are being upped to regulars for season six.

Nichols plays Jessie, a potential love interest for Rick (Andrew Lincoln). Feldshuh plays Deanna, the leader of Alexandria, while Nichols plays Deanna’s son Spencer. Deanna was a congresswoman from Ohio before the zombie outbreak and tries to integrate Rick and his group into the community.

The trio joins fan favorite Lennie James, who plays Morgan, who was also promoted to series regular after a handful of appearances.

“The Walking Dead” remains one of the highest-rated shows on television. Season five averaged 14.4 million viewers per episode, with the finale alone drawing in 15.78 million.

Season six of “The Walking Dead” will premiere on AMC on Oct. 11.
