‘The X-Files’ Reboot Teaser Animates Iconic Mulder and Scully Moments (Video)

Limited series bringing back Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny to premiere on Fox in January

Mulder and Scully are back in “The X-Files” limited series on Fox in January, but a new promo for the revival reminds fans of some other iconic elements of the original series instead.

Drawn in the style of Saul Bass, the new 30 second teaser features dialogue from David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson and images of UFOs, cornfields, Mulder’s “I Want to Believe” poster and the Cigarette Smoking Man (William B. Davis), one of the most iconic figures of the original series, who will be back for the revival.

The series follows FBI special agents Scully (Anderson) and Mulder (Duchovny) as they investigate unexplained cases – dubbed “X-Files” – for which the only answers involve paranormal phenomena.

During its initial nine-season run, “The X Files” became one of the most successful television dramas of all time, hitting a peak ratings high in 1997 when more than 27 million people tuned in to the Season 5 premiere. The show earned 16 Emmy Awards, five Golden Globes and a Peabody Award.

“The X-Files” premieres Sunday, Jan. 24 at 10 p.m. ET on Fox.
