Tom Cruise will reteam with director Doug Liman in the development of the sci-fi film “Luna Park” for Paramount, an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.

Cruise will possibly star in the film as well.

The plot will revolve around a group of renegade employees venturing to the moon to steal a source of energy.

Paramount originally greenlit the project in 2011, when Liman wanted to move forward with stars Chris Evans and Andrew Garfield, but the studio stopped production over budget issues.

Cruise is busy filming “Jack Reacher 2” and has revealed that he will shoot another “Mission: Impossible” movie for Paramount next year, so it’s unclear when production for “Luna Park” might begin.

Cruise and Liman previously worked together on 2014’s “Edge of Tomorrow,” and recently wrapped production on the 1980s-set drug-running film “Mena,” which is set to be released in 2017.

Cruise is repped by CAA.
