The reality star said just last week that he would be dropping his pursuit of the Oval Office
Donald Trump phoned in to Fox News Channel's "Fox and Friends" Monday morning to discuss the season finale of "Celebrity Apprentice" and took the opportunity to say that he would "not rule out" running for president in 2012.
This reverses his surprise statement at last Monday's NBC upfront presentation where he stated uncategorically that he would drop out of the race and return to his hit series. "I will not be running for president," Trump had told advertisers gathered to check out NBC's fall schedule. "As much as I'd like to."
In the verbose eight-minute segment on "Fox and Friends," Trump offered his take on the Republican field of candidates, and said that he could jump back in the presidential race if he remains unsatisfied with the choices.
"I would not rule it out," he said. "I can't rule out anything. The country is so important and it's so vital we choose the right person and at this moment I don't see that person."
