David Letterman put Bill Clinton's political skills to the test Wednesday night when he slipped in a jab at Jay Leno during the former president's visit to "The Late Show" to talk about the economy.

"One of the best things about Americans is we don't really resent other people's success," Clinton suggested.
Quipped Letterman: "What about Leno?"
Clinton wisely took the laugh-and-don't-take-talk approach, buying himself time to come up with a fairly noncommital response.
