UTA Hires LonelyGirl15 Co-Creator Greg Goodfried

Goodfried joins the agency’s digital division

UTA has hired digital entrepreneur Greg Goodfried as an agent in its digital media division, bolstering a roster of agents that advised AwesomenessTV and represents clients such as Foursquare.

Goodfried co-created LonelyGirl15, an early web series, and then co-founded EQAL, which built social networks and websites for reality TV stars like Lauren Conrad and JWOWW of the “Jersey Shore.”

“Greg’s creativity and thought leadership in building digital businesses around big ideas, brands and influencers will be major assets in servicing our clients,” UTA’s head of digital media Brent Weinstein said in a statement. “He is a pioneer of the modern digital media landscape, and we are excited to have him join our growing team.”

Goodfried’s focus will be finding new revenue opportunities in the digital space for agency clients like Johnny Depp, Gwyneth Paltrow and Owen Wilson. The digital division represents several clients of its own, such as YouTube stars iJustine and Shane Dawson, and corporate clients like Dolby and the Consumer Electronics Association.

“UTA has built a world class digital team providing value for talent, startups and brands,” Goodfried said in a statement. “I’m excited to join Brent and the team to build on their great momentum.”
