‘Vampire Diaries’ Star Kat Graham on Bonnie’s Bisexuality: ‘I’ve Been Campaigning’ (Video)

Actress also tells TheWrap how she hopes the long-running CW drama will end in latest installment of Drinking With the Stars

“Vampire Diaries” star Kat Graham hasn’t been shy about wanting to make her character Bonnie bisexual, and with her growing closeness to Nora on the CW vampire drama, could that finally become reality?

“I’ve been campaigning,” Graham told TheWrap during a new episode of Drinking With the Stars. “You have to watch and see. I really love the dynamic that the Bonnie character has with the Nora character [played by Scarlett Byrne] … We have a lot of fun doing the scenes. The writers definitely planted a few seeds here and there, so we’ll see what happens.”

Beyond being bisexual, Graham hopes her character will continue to have layers.

“I just want to play a three-dimensional character,” she said. “So whether the character is straight or bisexual or gay or trans or anything, it’s an honor to play a character that shows three-dimensional sides to her. Especially being African-American, you want to show all those different sides to a young girl growing up. So I’m hoping that they explore that. In any way, I’ll take it.”

Graham also discussed what to expect when “The Vampire Diaries” returns for its midseason premiere, and how she would like to see the show end.

“The Vampire Diaries” airs Fridays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
