‘Vikings’ Season 3 Trailer Promises More Violence and Conquests to Come (Video)

Comic-Con 2014: Look ahead was cleverly narrated by the show’s creepy blind Seer, portrayed by John Kavanagh

There’s a new king in town, and he’s looking to expand his empire. It’s almost guaranteed that Travis Fimmel‘s character Ragnar Lothbrok, who just became King of the Danes, will seek to expand his new kingdom when “Vikings” kicks off its third season in 2015.

History released a teaser trailer for the upcoming season, taking advantage of the show’s creepy blind Seer character, portrayed by John Kavanagh, to foretell what is to come.

One thing that is promised is that Fimmel and his band of bloodthirsty warriors will set their sites on France, facing off against the power of King Charles in the region.

At their San Diego Comic-Con panel, James Hobbs, History’s VP of scripted and nonfiction development and programming, said that the historical Raid of Paris would be a game-changer for the show, emphasizing how advanced Paris was technologically compared to societies that have been attacked so far.

The show’s producers and cast did reveal that a fan-favorite on the show would die, according to media reports. In fact, they said that they’d just filmed the death scene before hopping on a plane for San Diego.

The only hint they would give is that the actor wasn’t on the panel, which included Fimmel, Alexander Ludwig, Clive Standen and Katheryn Winnick. Let the speculation begin.
