There were countless winners at the People’s Choice Awards on Wednesday, but Vin Diesel had the most emotional moment of the night when he honored former co-star Paul Walker with a song.

The action star accepted two awards for “Furious 7” — one for favorite action movie and the other for favorite film — and dedicated the both to Walker, who died in a car crash during production of the movie.

“It was a labor of love,” Diesel told the audience about continuing the film after Walker’s death in November 2013. “My only message to you is: you’d be amazed what you can do with love. You’d be amazed how powerful of a force that is. When we didn’t want to come back to filming, when the tragedy was too heavy, it was the love of everyone combined that saw through to the end.”

In a fitting tribute, Diesel went on to belt out the unofficial song of summer, “See You Again” by Wiz Khalifa.

“It’s been a long day without you my friend, and I’ll tell you all about it when I see you again,” the 48-year-old sang to his fallen friend while fighting back tears.

Hosted by “Glee” star Jane Lynch, the People’s Choice Awards were presented at the Microsoft Theater L.A. Live in downtown Los Angeles and aired live on CBS.

Jason Derulo and Shawn Mendes joined the Emmy-winning actress on stage as musical guests.
