Dailies | ‘Star Wars’ Vintage Blooper Reel Surfaces Featuring Han Solo Eating a Microphone (Video)

The Force was not always strong with the cast of George Lucas’ 1977 science fiction classic

What does Harrison Ford do if he messes up a line while filming? According to a new set of bloopers from the original “Star Wars,” he eats props.

The actor who played Han Solo in the science fiction saga's “Episode IV: A New Hope,” “Empire Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi” shoves a headset microphone in his mouth after flubbing a line next to his pal, Chewbacca, while filming a scene aboard the Millenium Falcon.

Mark Hamill, who played orphan-turned-Jedi Luke Skywalker, ponders the proper pronunciation of “supernova” in one outtake, while even Oscar-winner Sir Alec Guinness has trouble getting his lines right.

Watch the video above to see the vintage blooper reel, which also features Darth Vader's menacing right-hand man, Admiral Tarkin, getting thrown off his game by Carrie Fisher's Princess Leia.

“Star Wars: Episode VII,” which is being directed by J.J. Abrams, is expected to hit theaters in 2015.

It was recently announced that Oscar-winning screenwriter Michael Arndt was no longer working on the sequel. Instead, Abrams is writing the script with “Empire Strikes Back” co-writer, Lawrence Kasdan.

“The actor that plays Hans Solo”? you don't know who that was?

    • Mike

Yes, he does know, as evidenced by the first paragraph. Basically, he is lacking commas after “actor” and “Jedi.” It would be correct and make more sense that way, but if you don't just read isolated lines, you can tell what he meant.

    That was hilarious!
