WGN America announced the premiere date for the new series “Outsiders” on Friday.

The show will premiere on Jan. 26 at 9 p.m. ET on the cable network. The scripted series explores the Farrell family’s struggle for power and control as they attempt to live off the grid and above the law on their mountaintop home in Kentucky.

The 13-episode, one-hour original will follow the Farrells as they try to keep the outside world from intruding on a way of life they have enjoyed for almost 200 years.

The cast for “Outsiders” includes: David Morse (“Treme,” “Hurt Locker”) as Big Foster, a gruff and powerful heir to leadership; Ryan Hurst (“Sons of Anarchy,” “Bates Motel”), as Lil Foster, a massive mountain man and son of Big Foster; Joe Anderson (“The Divide,” “Across the Universe”) as Asa, a member of the Farrell clan looking to rejoin the family after a stint with the outside world; and many more.

Playwright Peter Mattei wrote and created the series in addition to executive producing. Fedora Entertainment’s Emmy Award winner Peter Tolan (“Rescue Me,” “Analyze This”), Emmy Award-winning actor Paul Giamatti (“John Adams,” “Sideways”), Dan Carey (“All Is Bright”) for Touchy Feely Films and Fedora’s Michael Wimer (“2012,” “Rake”) also serve as executive producers.

Emmy Award-winning director Adam Bernstein (“30 Rock,” “Fargo”) will direct two episodes. Sony Pictures Television and Tribune Studios are producing. It is WGN America’s third original series after “Salem” and the Emmy-winning “Manhattan.”
