‘Wheel of Fortune’ Contestant Solves Puzzle With One Letter, Wins Big (Video)

Robert Santoli astonishes host Pat Sajak

A “Wheel of Fortune” contestant has proven one letter could be worth, well, a fortune.

23-year-old Robert Santoli is getting national attention for solving a puzzle last Friday after seeing just one letter. The 14-letter, three-word phrase was Port & Starboard, and host Pat Sajak couldn’t contain his astonishment when the contestant correctly guessed it.

“The instant I got my theme, I immediately came up with an ever-growing list of puzzles themed towards cruises, sailing, fish, boats — anything on or in the water,” Santoli said to TAPinto about how he prepared for his segment.

According to CNN, Santoni went on to win almost all puzzles, and Sajak had to tell the contestant to slow down when answering the questions: “Let it come up, then I guess you can tell us what’s there.”

During the commercial break, Santoli said that Sajak even asked him to “let someone else play,” as well. Santoli went on to win $76,000 and two cruises.

“I plan to pay off my student loans from Fordham and buy or lease my own car,” he told TAPinto about his winnings.
