Fans of “The Walking Dead” were ecstatic that Glenn (Steven Yeun) survived his fall from the dumpster in episode three of this season, but a new theory is suggesting that Daryl (Norman Reedus) is about to meet his maker.

In the “Walking Dead” source comics, Glenn is killed when the group runs afoul of Negan, the leader of a group called The Saviors. But as Glenn just survived a major brush with death, many believe that Daryl will take his place as the subject of Negan’s wrath.

This may sound far fetched, but there are a few clues:

-In a clip from the second half of season six, Daryl, Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green), and Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) run into a group of bikers on the road back to Alexandria who claim to work for Negan.

-Daryl, Sasha, and Abraham killed several members of a group that is most likely The Saviors, meaning Negan would have reason to want revenge against them specifically.

-Reedus recently landed a new travel series on AMC, which could indicate that he is preparing for a post-“Walking Dead” existence.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan was recently cast on the show to play Negan, a foul-mouthed killer whose weapon of choice is a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire that he calls Lucille.

“The Walking Dead” Season 6 resumes on AMC on Feb. 14.
