It’s probably better for all of us that Will Ferrell gravitated more towards improv and sketch comedy acting instead of stand-up, but he certainly gave it the old college try, as he recalled during Wednesday’s “Late Late Show.”
The problem was likely an overabundance of “Star Trek” material.
The former “SNL” funnyman used to open his act by singing the theme song to the sci-fi series, which as fans know, has no words. That creates a comedic challenge.
“That was your act,” his “Get Hard” co-star and panel partner Kevin Hart said with a big smile.
New host James Corden then coaxed Ferrell into crooning it. And Ferrell killed it, despite Hart repeatedly telling him to “stop it” during the high notes.
“Get Hard” is sentenced to theaters on Friday.
