Will Ferrell Wears Leprechaun Outfit to Warn David Letterman About Snake Attacks on St. Patrick’s Day (Video)

The comedian also sings his rendition of Irish classic “Danny Boy”

Will Ferrell is doing all he can to protect the people of New York from snakes.

The “Get Hard” star appeared on “The Late Show with David Letterman” on Tuesday dressed as a leprechaun for St. Patrick’s Day.

But rather than most revelers who use the holiday as an excuse to drink green beer, Ferrell takes it much more seriously.

“We forget that in the fifth century, the real Saint Patrick, he chased all the snakes out of Ireland,” Ferrell said.

Therefore, Ferrell dresses up each year and goes around New York “educating people on the dangers of snakes.” Ferrell’s work is sorely needed, evidently, as he claims there were 36,000 snake attacks in Manhattan alone in 2014.

Ferrell then grabbed a microphone and belted out a heartfelt rendition of the Irish classic “Danny Boy” — with more snakes in the lyrics than previous versions.
