Will Smith meets love, time and death in the first trailer for New Line and Village Roadshow’s “Collateral Beauty.”
“We’re here to connect,” says Smith at the beginning of the trailer. “Love, time, death. Those three things connect every single human being on earth. We long for love, we wish we had more time, we fear death.”
The drama follows a successful New York advertising exec (Smith), who experiences a personal tragedy and retreats from life, only to have his colleagues come up with a plan to bring him back to life. He meets people representing the three things: time, love and death.
“You’ve been given a gift, the profound connection to everything,” says Naomie Harris‘ character. “Just look for it. I promise you, it’s there. The collateral beauty.”
The film stars Smith, Harris, Edward Norton, Keira Knightley, Jacob Latimore, Michael Peña, Kate Winslet and Helen Mirren. David Frankel (“The Devil Wears Prada”) is directing the film.
Allan Loen (“21”) wrote the screenplay for the film, and is also a producer with Bard Dorros and Michael Sugar under the Anonymous Content banner. Anthony Bregman is producing for Likely Story and Kevin Frakes is producing for PalmStar Media.
“Collateral Beauty” is slated for release on Dec. 16 of this year.
