Let’s get ready to campaiiiiggggn! Possibly.

WWE star Kane has launched a bid to run for Knox County mayor in Tennessee, WCYB reports.

Kane, whose real name is Glenn Jacobs, has filed papers with the Knox County Election Commission. In the papers, dated March 1, Jacobs appointed a political treasurer, Brian Carl, bringing him a step closer to climbing into the political ring.

“Knox County is a great place and we’re so happy and feel so blessed to live here,” Jacobs said of the move toward a political run. “I want to do my part going forward.”

The papers identify Jacobs as a Republican.

Should he formally jump into the race, Jacobs said his priority would be bringing jobs and businesses to the area.

Jacobs has ample time to decide. The election takes place May 1, 2018, though candidates are required to file nominating petitions, which have a November deadline.

In addition to his WWE role, Jacobs runs the insurance company, Jacobs Insurance Associates.
