The Warner Bros. release directed and co-written by Max Joseph (“Catfish”) centers on an aspiring DJ (Efron) trying to make it in Los Angeles’ electronic music scene. He stumbles upon Ratajkowski (“Gone Girl”) while playing a gig at a music producer’s swanky pad in the Hollywood Hills.
“Hey, you know this party’s looking a little stiff,” Ratajkowski tells Efron.
“So what are you saying? I need to amp it up,” Efron responds, and then delivers his DJ science of how to bring up his audience’s heart rate song by song, until they hit “the magic number” — 128 BPM.
