‘2 Broke Girls’ Renewed for Season 5 by CBS

“Mike & Molly” and “Mom” also given the go-ahead to return

“2 Broke Girls” is still a rich enough prospect for CBS to want more.

The network has ordered a fifth season of the comedy, which stars Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs.

As reported by TheWrap on Wednesday, CBS has also renewed the comedies “Mom” and “Mike & Molly.”

The current fourth season of “2 Broke Girls,” airing at 8 p.m. on Monday, is averaging 9.58 million total viewers, up slightly in the time slot from “How I Met Your Mother,” which ended its run last year.

In its current second season, “Mom” is up 42 percent in total viewers and 16 percent in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic compared with a year ago. “Mike & Molly,” which will enter a sixth season with its renewal, is up 20 percent in viewers versus its year-ago performance in the Monday, 8:30 p.m., time slot.
