Apple Music revealed its top 20 most streamed female artists in its history on Friday, in honor of International Women’s Day. Check out where some of the biggest names in music rank, including Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, and Rihanna.
1) Ariana Grande
The “Thank U, Next” singer is not only the most streamed woman in Apple Music’s four-year history, she’s the only female artist to crack 3 billion total streams.
2) Taylor Swift
The second-most streamed female artist released her most recent album, “Reputation,” in 2017.
3) Rihanna
Bad Gal RiRi is, along with Swift and Grande, one of only three women to hit 2 billion streams — and the first to ever accomplish the feat.
4) Beyoncé
Coincidentally, Beyonce’s album “Irreplaceable,” is also the fourth-most streamed album of 2019 so far, according to an Apple rep.
5) Nicki Minaj
The longtime hip-hop star narrowly edged out rival Cardi B for top 5 status.
6) Cardi B
Her “Invasion of Privacy” album last year set an Apple Music record for a female R&B/hip-hop artist by pulling in 100 million streams in its first week.
7) Adele
The British singer lands in the top 10 despite not having released an album since Apple Music’s launch year in 2015.
