21st Century Fox Nominates Tidjane Thiam for Election to Board of Directors

Thiam is the group chief executive of Prudential plc, Britain’s largest insurance group

Tidjane Thiam will stand for election to the 21st Century Fox board of directors when stockholders meet on Nov. 12.

Thiam currently serves as the group chief executive of Prudential plc, Britain’s largest insurance group.

“Tidjane is an accomplished executive and a global thought leader with valuable knowledge of international markets,” CEO Rupert Murdoch said in a statement. “Our company will be fortunate to benefit from his unique perspective, extensive operational and financial experience, and deep expertise in developing regions.”

Among his many accomplishments, Thiam is a member of both the British Prime Minister’s Business Advisory Group and the Africa Progress Panel chaired by former U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan. Mr. Thiam sits on the International Business Council of the World Economic Forum and was awarded the Legion d’Honneur by the French President in 2011.
