It turns out that 50 Cent is smarter than all of us, thanks to the fact that he hopped on the Bitcoin bandwagon way back in 2014.

After the release of his album “Animal Ambition,” the rapper began accepting Bitcoin as payment for his music — when the currency was valued at about $662, making an album cost a mere fraction of a bitcoin. He’s now amassed more than $7 million in the cryptocurrency.

The rapper confirmed a recent TMZ report that said “Animal Ambition” alone earned 50 Cent roughly 700 Bitcoin, which was more than $400,000 in 2014.

“Not bad for a kid from the South Side,” wrote the rapper on Instagram, pointing to the report on his cryptocurrency riches. “I’m so proud of me. LOL.” Just last year, he emerged from bankruptcy after paying off more than $22 million in debt after filing for chapter 11 reorganization in 2015, the Guardian reports.

In 2018 terms, though, 50 Cent’s digital riches amount to $7.7 million, based on Wednesday’s Bitcoin price.

We can’t blame him for tooting his own horn. He was making money moves before it was cool.

We’re proud of you, too, 50… if not a little jealous of your foresight.
