President Barack Obama surprised a Washington D.C. charter school with an appearance on Thursday, but one 6th grader was hoping one of his famous friends would have shown up instead.
“I really wanted it to be Beyoncé,” a girl named Madison told Obama (above) in front of the press.
“I understand,” Obama said. “Malia and Sasha would feel the same way.”
Obama, along with first lady Michelle, made the appearance in honor of National Day of Service.
“You thought we were going to be Beyoncé? It’s a disappointment,” the first lady agreed.
Madison then added that the president’s appearance was “even better,” but he wasn’t buying it.
“I appreciate you saying that in front of the press, but I know it’s not really true,” Obama said.
