Aaron Eckhart Is the Most Handsome Monster Ever in First ‘I, Frankenstein’ Trailer (Video)

Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein” monster is caught in a war between angels and demons in the upcoming action flick from the producers of “Underworld”

In the first trailer for “I, Frankenstein,” Aaron Eckhart makes it clear he is a monster “like no other” — a.k.a. he’s pretty ripped and handsome for that 200-year-old monster created by Dr. Frankenstein.

But hey, that’s a good thing in this take on author Mary Shelley’s creation, because it’s up to him to save the world from an army of genetically-engineered creatures like him in a war between angels and demons.

Bill Nighy stars as one of the villains looking to destroy humanity in the upcoming Lionsgate release written and directed by Stuart Beattie (“Pirates of the Caribbean”), which is based on the Darkstorm Studios graphic novel of the same name.

“Chuck” star Yvonne Strahovski plays the heroic monster’s human love interest, while the graphic novel’s creator Kevin Grevioux — also an actor — has a role alongside Jai Courtney (“A Good Day to Die Hard”) and Miranda Otto (“The Lord of the Rings”).

“I, Frankenstein” looks to replicate the same kind of supernatural fun found in the “Underworld” franchise (also co-created and produced by Grevioux) when it lands in theaters on Jan. 24.
