ABC News correspondent and “Good Morning America” mainstay Gio Benitez is more accustomed to reporting the news than making it — but a romantic proposal has the journalist trending all over the place.
Benitez, 29, jetted to Paris this week with boyfriend Tommy DiDario and surprised his partner on bended knee not far from the Eiffel Tower, asking for his hand in marriage.
“Time is what’s left behind in the wake of love,” Benitez captioned a photo of the moment. DiDario said yes, and series of photos followed with the men rocking their engagement bands.
“Today I said yes to my true partner in life, couldn’t be happier to stand next to you forever,” DiDario wrote on his own Instagram account.
“Thank you for all of your loving messages,” Benitez said in response to a glut of congratulations on social platforms.
In addition to his GMA” duties, Benitez appears on “World News Tonight,” “20/20” and “Nightline.” Diario is a men’s lifestyle blogger.
