TCA: ABC Family Renews ‘Switched at Birth,’ Back-Orders Jennifer Lopez’ ‘The Fosters’

"Twisted" also gets a back order, as well as adding "The Lying Game" vet Charles Platt Jr. as writer and EP

"Switched at Birth" has been renewed for a third season by ABC Family, which has also given back orders to its new series "The Fosters" and "Twisted," the network said Tuesday.

In addition to the back order, "Twisted" has added Charles Pratt Jr. ("The Lying Game") as a writer and executive producer.

"The Fosters," which is executive produced by Jennifer Lopez, revolves around "a multi-ethnic family mix of foster and biological kids being raised by two moms."

"Twisted," meanwhile, follows Danny Desai, a charismatic 16-year-old with a troubled past who returns to his hometown after spending five years in juvenile detention.
